Two longtime regional engineering and surveying companies are merging, with Blacksburg-based Anderson & Associates scheduled to start the new year by becoming part of Hurt & Proffitt.
“We are excited about the opportunities that the combined forces of our two firms will hold for the future,” Hurt & Proffitt President Bif Johnson said in an announcement. “Our industry is rapidly changing and growing. This acquisition will allow us to meet those changes head on and allow us to expand our services.”
Jessica Littlejohn, an Anderson & Associates engineer who on Jan. 1 will become Hurt & Proffitt’s vice president of Blacksburg engineering, echoed the sentiments, saying in the announcement, “We are eager for our two firms to join forces. Combining our organizations will give us more depth to help our clients move their projects forward efficiently. We can’t wait to get started.”
Chris Kaknis, a veteran surveyor at Anderson & Associates, is to become vice president of Blacksburg survey under the new company structure, the announcement said.
