The General Electric plant in Salem had to close part of its operations after someone damaged property at the plant Monday night. Police are investigating the incident.
“An unknown person or persons obtained access to the manufacturing facility after hours, causing damage to systems and production materials,” a spokeswoman for GE Energy Connections said in an email. “No one has been injured, however it has impaired business operations and the manufacturing building has been closed temporarily.”
She said the company will inform employees when they should report back to work.
Salem police said the incident happened between 5 p.m. Monday and 1 a.m. Tuesday.
