The Towson University football program announced its largest signing class in program history as part of National Signing Day Feb. 1. With 22 incoming freshman this fall, plus six mid-year enrollees who will join the program in the spring, the Tigers welcome the largest influx of new scholarship athletes any Towson sports team has ever seen.
According to head coach Rob Ambrose, the reasoning behind the historic inrush is layered.
"Why? A combination of things," Ambrose said. "A large graduating senior class, couple of guys that were injured who have discontinued their careers, couple defections and some cancer removal."
