Big ideas for the old Dome site – 11 undeveloped acres near the Oceanfront – have come and gone over the years. But plans for the property may finally be getting off the ground.
In the past few weeks, three developers have submitted proposals to the city for entertainment-centered projects.
“They all were close to the mark to the type of product we’re looking for,” Deputy City Manager Ron Williams told resort area leaders Thursday.
The Virginia Beach Development Authority plans to officially accept letters of qualification Wednesday through March 10 to redevelop the site.
