A $1.5 million federal grant will pay for half of the cost of Roanoke extending Blue Hills Drive to the site of the Deschutes Brewery.
The city announced the award from the U.S. Economic Development Administration Friday.
Extending the road in the Roanoke Centre for Industry and Technology to the brewery site is one item on a list of city promises that helped convince the Oregon-based brewer to locate its East Coast expansion here.
The $3 million road project also includes curb and gutter, drainage, street lights, water and sewer extensions, sidewalks and landscaping, according to a city news release.
