While affordable workforce housing is lacking in Botetourt County, there seemed to be no shortage of interest Monday in filling the void.
About 100 stakeholders — property owners, developers, real estate agents, home builders, bankers, designers, government officials and others — attended a daylong housing summit at the Greenfield Education and Training Center.
With some people sitting in the aisles and standing in the back of the auditorium, county officials saw in the turnout an opportunity for the kind of networking that is needed to provide more housing to meet a coming tide of new manufacturing jobs.
“We have a golden opportunity to connect the dots,” County Administrator Gary Larrowe told the crowd.
