Farm Fresh is reducing its Virginia Beach-based headquarters staff by 21 positions as part of its parent company's decision to shift merchandising to a Maryland office, a company spokesman confirmed.
Farm Fresh owner SuperValu is basing its merchandising team for Farm Fresh, Shoppers and Shop 'n Save East at Shoppers in Bowie, Md., and plans to add merchandising staff there, Supervalu spokesman Jeff Swanson said.
Twenty-three operations positions will remain in the Virginia Beach office on Seahawk Circle, Swanson said. The company is reducing its Farm Fresh operations and store support roles from 60 positions to 40 remaining jobs, he said.
