Fish & Richardson announced today that Ahmed J. Davis, a principal in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, has been selected as a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA) for his effectiveness and accomplishments in litigation, and ethical reputation.  Membership is limited to 3,500 Fellows, representing less than one-half of one percent of all U.S. lawyers.  Davis is the fifth Fish attorney to be selected as an LCA Fellow. 

In his practice, Davis focuses on complex patent litigation in a range of technical areas, including chemistry, biotechnology, medical devices, and mechanical and electrical engineering.  Experienced in all phases of litigation, he regularly leads cases in federal district court, at the International Trade Commission, and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (where he clerked after law school).  He is the firm’s leading attorney for matters in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia (where he also clerked after law school). 

Davis is a member of the firm’s Management Committee and national chair of Fish’s Diversity Initiative.  Outside the office, he is a regular speaker on patent issues, and is an instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy.  He received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1999, his M.S. in chemistry from Emory University in 1996, and his B.S., cum laude, in chemistry from Morehouse College in 1994. 

Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only, with Fellows selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation.  Established as a trial and appellate lawyer honorary society reflecting the American bar in the twenty-first century, the LCA represents the best in law among its membership.  The number of Fellowships has been kept at an exclusive limit by design, with recognition of excellence in litigation across all segments of the bar.
