Developer Thomas Bell is one step closer to building 200 single-family homes between Forest and Goode on two neighboring properties off U.S. 221.
The Bedford County Planning Commission recommended approval to the board of supervisors for the development.
The vote was 5-2 in approval, with Vice Chairman Tom Woodford and commissioner Harold Brown voting against the development, citing their concern for the Forest area growing too fast.
