After much anticipation, the single-family housing development proposed to be built on neighboring properties on Everett Road and Gladden Circle between Forest and Goode off U.S. 221 officially has been approved.
The Bedford County Board of Supervisors voted 5-2, with supervisors Bill Thomasson and Andy Dooley opposed, to approve the 170-lot Country Club Meadows development by Thomas Builders of Virginia.
Chairman Curry Martin said the project is 100 percent what the county needs.
