Advance Auto Parts said Tuesday that hundreds of positions at the Roanoke-based company are being shuffled or eliminated, although it has not provided details about where the job cuts are happening.
A statement from the company said that employees were told last week of structural changes in the “field, supply chain and corporate support functions, which in some cases, resulted in position eliminations.”
These changes affected 475 positions, according to a company spokeswoman, but did not impact store management and associates. It is not clear from the statement if all 475 positions were eliminated or how many jobs were cut in Roanoke, and the spokeswoman declined to answer follow-up questions about the statement.
