Lumos Networks Names Josh Wolff as SVP of Lumos Data Centers

7/12/17

WAYNESBORO, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Lumos Networks Corp. (Nasdaq: LMOS), a leading fiber-based service provider in the Mid-Atlantic region, today announced the hiring of Josh Wolff as Senior Vice President of the recently created Lumos Data Center business. Josh will be based in Charlotte and will oversee the company’s data center efforts across Lumos Networks’ entire fiber network, including DC74, which Lumos acquired in February of 2017.

Prior to joining Lumos Networks, Josh was the SVP and Director of Northridge/Perficient, based in Charlotte, and was focused on Business Development throughout the Carolinas and Metro DC markets since 2011. From 2005-2011, Josh was the General Manager and Regional Director of Hosted Solutions/Windstream Communications Charlotte Data Center Operation, where he helped launch and was tasked with maximizing sales growth in that market.

According to third party research, the total Charlotte co-location market in 2017 is estimated to be approximately $140 million, up nearly 7% year-over-year. The market is estimated to reach over $150 million in 2018, up nearly 7% versus 2017. The Charlotte metro area is the 22nd largest MSA in the US with a population of approximately 2.5 million, up nearly 12% since 2010. Charlotte’s population growth over that period was the fourth highest of the 22 largest MSAs.

“I am pleased to announce that Josh Wolff has joined the Lumos Networks team to oversee our newly created Data Center business,” said Timothy G. Biltz, President and CEO of Lumos Networks. “Given Josh’s deep experience in the robust Charlotte data center market, Josh was an optimal candidate to accelerate growth within our recently acquired DC74 Data Center assets. We believe that our market share of the Charlotte co-location and managed services market is currently less than 5%.”

Josh Wolff said, “I am excited about the opportunity to lead the recently established Lumos Network Data Center business. I look forward to continuing the tradition of Lumos Networks’ customer-focused solutions to lead the company’s data center business into its next leg of growth in this exciting market.”
