A new internet service provider is coming into downtown Roanoke aboard the municipal broadband network that localities pitched in to bring online last year.
Virginia Beach-based ABS Technology, which already had a Roanoke office, will deliver residential service to just one apartment building for now, the historic Boxley Building at 416 S. Jefferson St.
Greg Henderson, ABS regional sales manager, said it may bring others online in the future.
Asked if the project would have been possible without the Roanoke Valley Broadband Authority’s network, Henderson said there’s no way.
