The proposed express lanes extension in Stafford County marks the fifth leg of a suite of projects along the Interstate 95 corridor.
Work has already started on some of the projects, which add up to about $850 million in infrastructure work along the busy interstate corridor.
The express lanes extension project’s preliminary designs call for using flyovers and slip ramps at numerous access points along the 10-mile addition of the tolled lanes in the median to the U.S. 17 area in Stafford, Michelle Shropshire told a crowd Monday night at Stafford High School. More than 70 residents turned out to see the designs for the extended express lanes.
