Lynnhaven Fishing Pier Sold To Virginia Beach Retirement Community

After more than a year of negotiations, the owners of the Lynnhaven Fishing Pier have sold the property to the Westminster-Canterbury retirement community.

The pier will close Sunday and could be torn down next year.

Lynnhaven Fish House, the pier restaurant, will shutter its doors at the close of business Dec. 31.

“The sale finally went through,” said Bobbie Duff, whose family has owned the pier since it was built 61 years ago.

The sale price: $6 million, according to Thomas Kyrus, another of the pier’s owners, who also owns and operates Lynnhaven Fish House and the pier cafe with his son, Chris.
