BVU Authority is currently working to help secure financial assistance for incoming industrial customer American Merchant.
On Tuesday, American Merchant announced it plans to establish a towel manufacturing business inside the former Ball Corp. building in Bristol, Virginia. The company plans to invest nearly $20 million and hire more than 400 workers with production expected to begin in January 2019.
BVU is working to secure some aid for the company’s expected power bill through the Tennessee Valley Authority’s VIP investment credit program for large industrial customers, according to BVU Key Accounts Manager Chris Hall.
