Volunteers of America Chesapeake, a faith-based, non-profit organization, is pleased to announce that Elizabeth Driggers, Executive Program Director of Loudoun Homeless Service Center, has received the Simplicity of Service Award from Epsilon Zeta Boule of the Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity on Saturday, December 2, 2017. This award was given for Driggers’ Exceptional Service Beyond Ordinary Citizenry.

Driggers leads the housing and homelessness initiatives with the Loudoun Continuum of Care (CoC) partners to prevent and end homelessness for Loudoun County citizens. She is passionate and dedicated to her work.

“We’re very proud of Elizabeth for her work in Loudon County,” said Russel K. Snyder, President of Volunteers of America Chesapeake. “She shows tremendous compassion and integrity to others through her initiatives to end homelessness and in her ability to create a community that supports vulnerable people in Loudoun County.”

Epsilon Zeta Boule partners with CADCA and Volunteers of America Chesapeake in their advocacy work of serving the homeless population of Loudoun County. This partnership holds an annual 5k Salute for Service Run/Walk at Stonebridge High School in Ashburn, VA the 1st Saturday in November. Last year, the Boule donated $7,000 and this year donated $7,500 to support the Volunteers of America Loudoun Homeless Services Center. There were approximately 350 runners in attendance. Mobile Hope was also a beneficiary of the 2017 race.

Sigma Pi Phi was established in 1904 in Philadelphia as the first Greek-letter fraternity for African American men. Epsilon Zeta Boule, founded in 2010, has a mission to “significantly impact the Loudoun County community.” The fraternity models leadership, education and civic responsibility by supporting these endeavors and by mentoring the young men who will advance the African American community in all facets of equality, mutual respect and devotion to democratic traditions.
