Winter Carnival to Celebrate Educational Choice in D.C.

1/21/18

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Hundreds of Washington families will play carnival games, enjoy a free lunch, and take home books and prizes while parents learn about life-changing educational opportunities in the District and apply for scholarships at the DC Winter Carnival.

The carnival will take place at THEARC, beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27.

This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2018, which will feature more than 32,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

“We’re thrilled to host our annual carnival in support of D.C.’s Opportunity Scholarship Program, which creates an opportunity for families to learn more about these life-changing scholarships in a fun environment,” said Paige Halper outreach coordinator for the Institute for Justice. “We are proud to join National School Choice Week and advocates across the county in a nationwide celebration of educational choice!”

The Institute for Justice and Serving Our Children are teaming up to host the annual carnival. Representatives from both organizations will be speaking at the event.

THEARC is located at 1901 Mississippi Ave SE in Washington.
