Cogar Manufacturing announced Wednesday it will relocate a factory from Beckley, West Virginia, to Giles County.
The company will bring 60 workers into the former Caterpillar plant in Pearisburg, which has sat vacant since 2014. They will be building equipment for industries that mine coal, salt, copper and other natural resources .
Giles County Administrator Chris McKlarney noted this is the second economic development win for the county so far this year after Interstate Group, an Idaho-based trailer manufacturing company, announced an 83-person Glen Lyn facility in January.
