Agritourism – what does the word mean to you?
If you’re a consumer, it’s about enjoying an outing while learning how your favorite products come to be. But for producers, there’s a lot more to think about than how to provide edu-tainment from, say, a you-pick operation.
There’s farm safety. There’s concern over codes and regulations. There are insurance details. There are innumerable logistical questions, too: What areas should be open versus blocked? Where might dozens of visitors easily park? Can we offer regular tour hours?
And don’t forget public toilets.
