A program that provides state funding for regional economic development projects involving collaboration between localities has launched a second application process.
GO Virginia Region 3 will take applications until April 2. The region’s advisory council will meet on May 16 to consider the applications and decide which ones it will recommend to the state GO Virginia board. The state board will consider the projects for funding approval on Aug. 14.
In making recommendations, Region 3 will base 35 percent of a project’s score on desired economic impacts and 30 percent on the amount of regional collaboration involved.
