Fairfax Home Sales, Prices Down In February

A decline in total sales and relatively flat average prices resulted in February’s home-sale figures across Fairfax County ending up in decidedly negative territory.

A total of 768 properties went to closing last month, down 9.2 percent from the 846 transactions in February 2017, according to figures reported March 12 by RealEstate Business Intelligence, based on data from Bright MLS.

The average sales price of all properties that changed hands during the month stood at $532,616, down 0.6 percent from a year before, with average prices in two of three segments of the market declining:
