Bristol, Va., Population Continues To Decline

The population in Bristol, Virginia, continued its slow but steady decline last year, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s most recent population estimates released today.

The July 2017 population estimate for the city was 16,790. That figure was 0.8 percent lower than the year before — a drop that also represents the average annual decline for the city’s population since 2010.

The latest population estimates were not available for Bristol, Tennessee, though the figure was on the uptrend and sitting around 27,000 as of 2016.
