Dentons Product Liability and Litigation partner Belinda May was sworn in as President of the International Consumer Product Health and Safety Organization (ICPHSO) at the organization's 25th Annual Meeting and Training Symposium recently. ICPHSO is the world's largest consumer products organization and is the only organization that attracts a worldwide membership of global government regulators, manufacturers, importers, retailers, trade associations, testing labs, law firms, academia, standards organizations, media, and consumer groups.

In one of her first acts as President of ICPHSO, May presided over the inaugural Trilateral Memorandum of Understanding between Canada, Mexico and the United States, to improve product safety alignment amongst product safety authorities. Active in the leadership of the organization, May previously served as President Elect and Vice President of ICPHSO.

May has experience in all aspects of consumer products laws involving the lifecycle of a product, spanning design, development, safety, manufacturing and production. Her practice encompasses a wide range of topics and disciplines, including product safety, hazard and supply chain analysis, performance and other marketing claims, regulatory challenges and contested proceedings with competitors, consumers and applicable agencies. May's practice involves working extensively on Consumer Product Safety Commission and other regulatory matters.

May earned her JD from Washington University School of Law where she was a member of the Law Review, and earned her BS, magna cum laude from William Woods University. She is also a Chambers ranked Nationwide Practitioner and holds a Certificate in Product Safety Management, Center for Supply Chain Management from Saint Louis University, John Cook School of Business.
