Are government regulations designed to help students in the 21st century? Or are they lagging behind? U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine heard from several current students and alumni of the New College Institute on Thursday, as each one detailed challenges they faced in getting a degree.
The majority of the conversation kept coming back to the way government regulations are currently set up. Students and alumni examined that the requirements and rules in some cases made it harder for them to find financial aid or to enter specific programs.
The health and human services field is one where jobs are always available in Henry and Patrick counties. As soon as students graduate, they can find an opening to fill.
