Virginia Secretary of Education Atif Qarni spoke to the Frederick County Business Task Force about the need to prepare students for a rapidly changing workforce.
He was the keynote speaker Wednesday at the group’s annual summit, which was attended by government officials, public education employees, nonprofit representatives, and school board members at Lord Fairfax Community College.
One of the Business and Education Task Force’s main goals is advancing a workforce initiative, which seeks to help students identify possible career paths early and obtain the necessary training.
