(L. to R.) Robert Zerance, Penn-Mar Board member; Doug Rein, Vice Chairman of the Board; Maryland State Delegate for District 7, Rick Impallaria being presented with the 2018 Advocate Award by Gregory T. Miller, the nonprofit’s president and CEO; and Kathy Rogers, executive director of the Penn-Mar Foundation, and Penn-Mar’s Chief Advancement Officer.

The Board of Directors of Penn-Mar Human Services is pleased to recognize Maryland Delegate for District 7, Rick Impallaria, with the 2018 Advocate Award for his unwavering support of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and those who support them.

Delegate Impallaria, along with Senator J.B. Jennings, also of Baltimore and Harford Counties’ 7th District, was instrumental in helping Penn-Mar secure critical state funds to help with the cost of a much needed renovation of the nonprofit’s Day Learning Center in Freeland, Md. The ability to move forward with this project allows Penn-Mar to create an environment that provides the highest level of supports to those individuals who have not yet made the transition to be out in the community and need to receive assistance on its campus.
