Susan Boswell Joins GEBA as Director of Marketing and Communications

Susan Boswell, M.A., CAE

The nonprofit Government Employees’ Benefit Association (GEBA), offering insurance and investment options and financial planning services to federal employees and retirees, today announced that Susan Boswell, M.A., CAE has joined the organization as director of marketing and communications.

In this role, Boswell is responsible for managing all marketing and communications for GEBA, GEBA Wealth Management, and the GEBA Scholarship Foundation. She will drive the vision and direction of GEBA and GEBA Wealth Management marketing and branding efforts that reflect the association’s evolving strategies.

Most recently, Boswell was staff vice president of communications at the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) based in Arlington, Va., where she was responsible for the website, digital communications, newsletters, graphic design, and NARFE’s magazine. Prior to that, she served as director of communications and marketing for the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Boswell has worked at American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Patuxent Publishing.

“Susan brings over 25 years of marketing and communications experience to us and our members at GEBA,” said Michele Rackey, executive director of GEBA. “We are thrilled to have her as part of our team.”

A resident of Jessup, Boswell earned her master’s from Notre Dame of Maryland University and holds the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives.

About the GEBA Scholarship Foundation and Member Educational Awards Program

The GEBA Scholarship Foundation was established to offer scholarships to members’ families. Since 2005, the foundation has awarded at total of $825,500 in 375 merit-based financial scholarships. The Member Educational Award Program is for members working full-time and attending school part-time or for members with student loan debt. Since 2013, the foundation has awarded $89,000 to 47 GEBA members.
