Attorney Christopher Jacobs Appointed to Virginia Supreme Court's Medical Malpractice Review Panel

7/17/18

On July 1, 2018, Attorney Christopher I. Jacobs of Kalfus & Nachman, P.C. was named a member of the Supreme Court of Virginia's Medical Malpractice Review Panel (MMRP). This voluntary service is vital to the work of the state's highest court.

The Supreme Court of Virginia's MMRP relies on the time and talents of attorneys who are above reproach, currently practicing, verifiably neutral, and in good standing with the Virginia State Bar, as well as medical professionals. Every year, members of the MMRP transition out and new members are brought in so that the panel is always impartial. This year, they chose to draw on the valuable knowledge and legal experience of Attorney Jacobs.

The state's MMRP serves to ensure people who have been legitimately harmed through medical malpractice are given a fair chance at relief. Panel members convene to review the facts of each case and determine whether or not individual complaints of medical malpractice filed against doctors and other care providers are legitimate. During the review process, a plaintiff receives an honest assessment of their complaint and the physician in question receives an honest, objective assessment of the quality of their care by doctors on the panel.

Attorney Christopher I. Jacobs joins a number of other volunteer panel members seeking to provide justice and relief for victims of medical malpractice. Since earning his Juris Doctorate from Regent University Robertson School of Law in 2002, he has been an active member of the Virginia State Bar Association and has concentrated his time and skill into his role as an Associate Attorney with the injury and disability firm, Kalfus & Nachman, Attorneys at Law.
