Howard County General Hospital’s Elizabeth Edsall Kromm Named to VIP List

Elizabeth Edsall Kromm, vice president of population health and advancement for Howard County General Hospital, was named to The Daily Record’s 2018 VIP List of “Very Important Professionals Successful by 40.”

The Daily Record created the VIP List in 2011 to recognize professionals 40 years of age and younger who have been successful in Maryland. Winners, chosen by a panel of previous VIP List honorees and business leaders, were selected based on professional accomplishments, community service and commitment to inspiring change.

Kromm leads population health activities and strategic planning efforts for Howard County General Hospital and sets the strategic direction for development and community engagement. She also helps position the hospital to meet the new challenges of a dynamic health care delivery system and serves as president of the Howard Hospital Foundation.

Among her community service activities, Kromm serves on the Community Foundation of Howard County board, the Housing and Community Development subcommittee of the Howard County Economic Opportunity and Prosperity Task Force as well as the Howard County Public School System superintendent’s Program Innovation Advisory Board.

Her distinctions include receiving the 2018 Trustees’ Award for Outstanding Service to Howard Community College for chairing a health care task force as part of the college’s Commission on the Future. She also received a 2017 Leading Women award from The Daily Record.

Kromm earned a doctorate in health policy and management from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she also serves as an adjunct assistant professor. She holds a master’s degree in international health policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a bachelor’s degree in the history and sociology of science from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a 2017 Premier graduate of Leadership Howard County.
