Linowes and Blocher LLP, a leading full-service real estate and business law firm, is pleased to announce that Meaghan C. Murphy and Laura M. Tallerico have joined the firm’s Bethesda office as associates.

Ms. Murphy has joined Linowes and Blocher’s Litigation and Bankruptcy practice groups. Concentrating in the areas of real estate law and commercial bankruptcy, she represents clients in a wide range of complex matters and disputes. Her clients include property owners, developers, creditors, management companies, franchisors, lenders, trusts, and other commercial entities. Before joining the firm, Ms. Murphy served as a law clerk to The Honorable Douglas R.M. Nazarian on the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland, where she gained valuable insight into the development of various cases from the trial court to the appellate court, and assisted in drafting many appellate opinions. Ms. Murphy obtained her J.D. cum laude from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where she earned numerous accolades and served on the Executive Board of the Journal of Business and Technology Law. She was also an active member of the Moot Court Board, assisted in grading the briefs and judging multiple moot court competitions and competed on behalf of the University of Maryland School of Law in a sports law-focused moot court hosted by Tulane Law School. During law school, Ms. Murphy worked as a law clerk at the United States Attorney’s Office of Maryland, the Women’s Law Center of Maryland, and several area law firms.

Ms. Tallerico has joined Linowes and Blocher’s Land Use/Zoning Practice Group, focusing on land use regulation issues such as zoning, planning, entitlements, and permitting. Before joining Linowes and Blocher, she clerked for The Honorable Steven G. Salant of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, where she gained familiarity with administrative law practice while assisting the judge with administrative appeals. In addition to her clerkship experience, Ms. Tallerico interned with the Montgomery County Office of the County Attorney, gaining valuable insight into the functions of county government. She obtained her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where she received many accolades for her academic work, served as the senior articles editor on the University of Maryland Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, and Class, as Order of the Coif, and as a student member of the Women’s Law Center of Maryland Board.
