Washington, DC (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Security Traders Association (STA) is pleased to today announce Kevin Parks as the 2018 Dictum Meum Pactum (DMP) award recipient. Over the course of his decade in the financial services industry, Kevin’s tremendous advocacy for children impacted by tragedy has exemplified the ideals the DMP award seeks to recognize.

In 2010, while employed at a NY-based hedge fund, Kevin began working with Tuesday’s Children, a nonprofit organization founded by family and friends of 9/11 victims in the days following the September 11 attacks. Tuesday’s Children provides lifelong support to people affected by terrorism and other forms of traumatic loss. The organization’s work has special significance for Kevin, as the September 11 attacks claimed the life of his father, Bob Parks, who worked at Cantor Fitzgerald. Kevin was 14 years old at the time.

Today, Kevin is the Founder and CIO of Parks Capital Management, an SEC-registered adviser which specializes in community bank investments. He also serves as a member of the Tuesday’s Children Board of Directors and co-founded the charity’s Junior Board. Kevin received his MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business and graduated from Syracuse University with a BS in Finance.

“Leaders like Kevin are our nation’s best hope of realizing the greatness that lies within the generation of those directly impacted by the attacks of 9/11,” said Jim Toes, President and CEO of the STA.

“I’m honored to receive this award,” said Kevin. “It is my privilege to contribute to the mission of Tuesday’s Children.”
