Avison Young’s John Kevill, Managing Director of U.S. Capital Markets, and Josh Peyton, Managing Director of the Washington, D.C. region, announced today that Matt Weber has joined the firm’s Washington office as a Senior Vice President in the Capital Markets group.

As a key member of the Capital Markets Debt and Equity practice and the Investment Sales practice, Weber will focus on finance and sales for multifamily, office, industrial and retail properties.

“Matt is a talented leader who has a tremendous depth of experience,” Kevill said. “He will be working on both the sales and JV equity side, and will ensure that our clients get a 360-degree exposure to how various capital structures can be used to drive value.”

Peyton noted that Weber is joining the firm at a pivotal time.

“Matt is yet another key addition that demonstrates Avison Young’s commitment to becoming a dominant player in the Capital Markets space both locally and nationally,” Peyton said. “We could not be more excited to have him as part of our team.”

Before joining Avison Young, Weber was a broker at MAC Realty Advisors and focused on equity placement and sales in the Washington, D.C. market.

At Avison Young, Weber will be working with Kevill on Investment Sales primarily in the Washington, D.C. area. He also will be working with Avison Young principals Wes Boatwright, Mike Yavinsky, and Jon Goldstein on debt and equity placement for the firm’s clients in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States.

Weber said he was very excited to join Avison Young, the world's fastest-growing commercial real estate services firm.

“Avison Young represents an incredible opportunity to be part of a smart, successful team of highly regarded professionals,” Weber said. “I’m looking forward to using my experience working with family offices and institutional clients to help grow the U.S. Capital Markets’ presence. I see a lot of exciting things ahead for Avison Young.”

Prior to his work at MAC, Weber managed a private equity fund sponsored by NVCommercial. There he managed more than $200 million, which included debt instruments, joint venture partnerships and direct ownership in stabilized investments as well as development projects.

Prior to that Mr. Weber was a Portfolio Management Officer with ING Clarion Partners, where he managed more than $1 billion of investments in retail, multi-family, office, and industrial properties. He also assisted in managing ING’s internal US Real Estate Development Fund, and was responsible for over $250 million of condominium projects in the Washington, D.C. and New England markets.

Prior to his career in real estate, Weber worked in management consulting for Arthur Andersen in their Business Consulting practice in Tysons Corner, VA.
