Eric Llewellyn, St. John Properties; Master Brewer Patrick Jones, General Manager Roger Bedard, Mark Hadaway, St. John Properties (he did such a great job overseeing the build-out that Pooles Island named a beer after him); Liane Reese, St. John Properties and Matt Lenihan, St. John Properties.

The brewery occupies 10,000 square feet of space and features a 15bbl system and a 2bbl pilot system led by Head Brewer, Patrick Jones. Jones, who started his brewing career in 1998 with Big River Grille & Brewing Works in Nashville, has also mastered his craft at Gordon Biersch, Triumph Brewing Co., and Byway Brewing Co.

Beer makes everyone smile. Baltimore County Councilwoman Cathy Bevins (6th District); flanked by Scott Cahlander and Roger Bedard of Pooles Island Brewing Company. "Middle River and Route 43 now has coffee, candy, liquor and beer," she said at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, in reference to the multiple manufacturing, warehouse and distribution uses at Baltimore Crossroads and Greenleigh at Crossroads."

"The location backs up to a wooded area and by installing a patio area, we will take advantage of the outdoors regular events," stated Roger Bedard. "We were also attracted to the rapid expansion of the Greenleigh at Crossroads community, including business and residential areas and intend to grow along with it. This development has everything we want and need."

What's a brewery without a brewery dog? Meet 12-week old Duke, an American Mastiff that is patrolling the new Pooles Island Brewing Company. He is expected to grow to approximately 230 pounds but the brewery promises he is extremely friendly. Overly-friendly, actually -- bring a napkin.
