Doctors Community Hospital earned a four-star quality rating from Hospital Compare. This rating was the highest among all hospitals in Prince George’s County. Hospital Compare was developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) in collaboration with other organizations and federal agencies to help consumers make well-educated decisions about where to seek quality medical services and encourage providers to improve their delivery of care.

According to medicare.gov, “Health Compare has information about the quality of care at over 4,000 Medicare-certified hospitals, including over 130 Veteran Administration (VA) medical centers, across the country.” This online resource rates how well healthcare providers deliver the right patient care at the right time by assessing various key indicators: mortality rates, safety of care, readmission rates, patient experiences, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care and efficient use of medical imaging.
