Alan J. Mogol of Baker Donelson has been elected to serve on the board of directors of the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA), a national trade association that represents companies in the equipment finance sector.

A shareholder in Baker Donelson's Baltimore office, Mr. Mogol concentrates his practice in structuring and negotiating equipment finance transactions as well as developing standard equipment lease/loan and syndication documentation. With more than 45 years' experience in the negotiation and documentation of equipment finance transactions, he has assisted more than a dozen national equipment financing companies in developing standard lease/loan and syndication documentation, including the use of motor vehicle titling trusts.

As a longtime member of ELFA, Mr. Mogol has served on the organization's Lawyers Committee and Education Committee. In 2016, he was named the recipient of ELFA's Edward A. Groobert Award for Legal Excellence. That same year he was listed in Leasing News as one of the "Twenty-Five Most Influential Attorneys in Leasing and Finance." Mr. Mogol has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America^© in the area of Equipment Finance Law since 2007 and in the area of Banking and Finance Law since 2017. He was named the Best Lawyers Baltimore Banking and Finance Law "Lawyer of the Year" for 2017 and 2020. He is a frequent lecturer and author in the equipment financing area.

The Equipment Leasing and Finance Association is the trade association that represents companies in the $1 trillion equipment finance sector, which includes financial services companies and manufacturers engaged in financing capital goods. ELFA's 575 members include independent and captive leasing and finance companies, banks, financial services corporations, broker/packagers and investment banks, as well as manufacturers and service providers.
