The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies (PMMI) has signed a lease to relocate its headquarters to Monument III, located at 12930 Worldgate Drive in the Worldgate office park. Occupying the full second floor, the Class-A space offers employees an expanded workplace with multiple features and amenities in the building and complex. The organization will move into the 28,656-square-foot space January 2020.
Savills Senior Managing Director Nicole Miller, Senior Managing Director Demetri Koutrouvelis, and Assistant Director Tomi Beightol represented PMMI in the relocation search and lease negotiations.
“After almost a decade at 11911 Freedom Drive in Reston, Virginia, PMMI had outgrown its space and desired a new home that would reflect the association’s mission and further benefit its members. Taking the group’s goals and initiatives into account, we were able to help PMMI identify a workplace to specifically accommodate the organization and its staff for years to come,” said Miller.
PMMI’s operations have rapidly expanded to support the association’s ongoing and growing initiatives, with education and workforce development being a major area of investment. The recent expansion and the success of the PACK EXPO portfolio of trade shows has increased the organization’s Reston, Virginia office by more than 41 percent over the past five years.
“We pride ourselves on how best we can support our members and the industry as a whole,” said Jim Pittas, president and CEO at PMMI. “Recent growth rates demonstrate our commitment to the industry and willingness to invest in staff to continue to expand our offerings to ensure we are equipping our members and thus the industry to conduct business in a competitive market. We look forward to our new home and the continued ability to deliver invaluable resources to our members’ businesses and packaging and processing globally.”
Savills Senior Managing Director Ann Linstrom served as the project manager and Bognet Construction in the buildout of PMMI’s new space. Robert Walters of Avison Young represented the landlord, Principal Real Estate Investors, LLC, in the transaction.
