Brian Brobst and Fred Helsley

Electrical Contracting Company Recognizes Dedicated Leaders

Rosendin, the electrical contracting industry’s largest employee-owned firm, is pleased to announce it has promoted Brian Brobst and Fred Helsley at its regional office in Sterling, VA. Rosendin is a $2 billion firm that provides electrical installation on large scale builds, including numerous data centers along the East Coast.

Brian Brobst has been promoted to Vice President of Preconstruction in the East to support teams in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, Texas, Arizona, and Nevada. Fred Helsley was promoted to Vice President of Field Operations to support teams throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Texas. Both men were instrumental to the completion of CyrusOne’s data center campus in 2016, a 220,000 square foot construction project completed in a record-setting 26-weeks.

Brian Brobst, Vice President of Preconstruction – East

Brobst has been with Rosendin for 7-years, most recently serving as Director of Preconstruction in the Washington, D.C. area. During his tenure, Brobst expanded East Coast operations and opened two new offices in Maryland and North Carolina centered around mission-critical and health care markets. He also led oversight of conceptual cost modeling, value engineering, bidding, and relationships with general contractors.

“Brian has proven to be an exemplary leader whose contributions to the company have been invaluable in growing services and market reach on the East Coast,” said Keith Douglas, Rosendin COO. “He inspires teams to take on new challenges while meeting every client’s needs along the way, and we are thrilled to see where he will take us next.”

“I have spent my career in the construction industry, and Rosendin has by far been the strongest advocate for my professional development,” said Brobst. “Rosendin’s new leadership team understands the challenges and opportunities associated with rapid growth in highly technical design projects, and I am excited to build upon our success.”

Brian has 30 years of industry experience, including pre-construction support, project management, and electrical design for mission-critical, health care, commercial, and institutional projects. He serves as Executive Vice President of 7x24 Exchange, Washington, D.C. Chapter, an organization focused on mission-critical infrastructure.

Fred Helsley, Vice President of Field Operations

Helsley started working with Rosendin in 2013, most recently serving as General Superintendent over East Coast teams working on challenging, high-profile construction projects. His experience includes oversight of field operations, labor relations, recruiting and training new leaders.

“Fred has displayed incredible dedication to providing quality and value to our customers while remaining focused on keeping our workers safe in the field,“ said Paolo Degrassi, President of Rosendin. “He is a natural leader who goes out of his way to help his teams, and we are happy to allow him the opportunity to take on this new role as Vice President.”

“Having started in this industry as an apprentice in 1986, I am thrilled to be selected for this leadership position where I can have real influence to protect and promote our men and women in the field,” said Helsley. “Paolo and the entire executive team spend time on job sites, so they understand the value of giving workers a safe and productive environment while seeking out innovative solutions to the labor shortage.”

Helsley has won industry awards for contributions to the construction and electrical industry. He’s active in the National Electrical Contractors Association and has been instrumental in recruiting apprentices with the Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee.

Helsley and Brobst will continue to work out of the Sterling regional office under the direction of the newly formed Executive Leadership Team, led by Mike Greenawalt, CEO, and Paolo Degrassi, President. Rosendin’s new organizational structure will also be led by Keith Douglas, COO Eastern Division; Matt Englert, COO Western Division; and Justin Tinoco, Executive Vice President of Field Operations.

The five longstanding executives make up the newly formed Executive Leadership Team, which replaces retiring executives Tom Sorley and Jim Hawk, along with Larry Beltramo, who is taking a reduced role in the company. They will retain their positions on the Board of Directors and remain at Rosendin through the end of 2020 to promote stability and provide support.
