Graduate School USA, the government’s training partner for 100 years and home to the Government Audit Training Institute (GATI), is pleased to announce the launch of its new Certified Professional Government Auditor Program.
GATI, the premier provider of government audit training, provides a career-enhancing program of performance, financial, IT contract, grant, supervisory auditing, and related courses that meet GAGAS and industry certification compliance requirements. In providing this resource to its auditing students, GATI is continuing its history of service that began in 1978.
The new certification program is open to anyone at any level of auditing, or those who perform auditing duties, such as evaluators, inspectors, or analysts in either the state, local, or federal government, and does not require an accounting or finance degree for admittance. The three-level professional certification program is based upon successful completion of a rigorous program of courses and a capping exam. Each level is designed to match the participant’s level of experience and career goals: Level I - Certified Government Auditor (160 CPE and Exam), Level II - Certified Master Government Auditor (100 CPE and Attainment of Level I), and Level III - Certified Government Audit Leader (88 CPE and Attainment of Level II).
In addition to maintaining their bi-annual CPE requirements, participants will progress through program courses that will map closely to the participant’s Individual Development Plan (IDP) from foundation courses through intermediate, to management and leadership courses.
GATI’s accredited courses examine the traditional issues of economy, efficiency, performance measurement, effectiveness, internal control, and fraud, and are designed to meet the continuing professional education requirements of federal, state, and local government auditors, and prepare participants for the CGAP exam.
