Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has named Campfire Communications president Henry Fawell to the Board of Directors for the Maryland Public-Private Marketing Corporation, a new entity responsible for developing a branding and marketing strategy for Maryland and for recruiting businesses to relocate to Maryland.
The board includes leaders from AstraZeneca, Volvo, McCormick, Inc., Plank Industries, The University of Maryland and more.
“I am excited to work with my board colleagues to improve Maryland’s brand as a great place to do business,” said Fawell. “Maryland has first class economic assets and now is the time to showcase them in a creative and compelling way for the world to appreciate.”
As Founder & President of Campfire, Henry Fawell has managed communications campaigns for a range of companies, including Fortune 500 brands and leaders in the energy, real estate, transportation and technology industries. He specializes in message development, public relations, digital marketing and advocacy campaigns.
Henry served as Press Secretary to the Governor of Maryland from 2003 to 2007. In this capacity he served as day-to-day media spokesman for the Governor and helped develop communications strategy for nearly two dozen state agencies with combined budgets of more than $30 billion. Prior to founding Campfire, he served as a media strategist for corporate clients at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, a 500-attorney business litigation law firm.
