Jeffrey Davis

Van Eperen, a PR and strategic communications agency based in Maryland, announced that Jeffrey A. Davis, APR, managing partner and head of the firm’s Baltimore office, will be a featured speaker at the National Association of Government Communicators (NAGC) 2019 Communications School in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, June 27.

With a mission of advancing the profession of government communication, the organization is dedicated to advocating, promoting and recognizing excellence in government communication. NAGC has members from coast to coast, Canada and Europe, at all levels of government.

The 2019 NAGC Communications School includes speakers from National Defense University, San Diego State University, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, United States Fire Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs, among others. Keynote presenters will include Cathy Milhoan, Director of Communications, U.S. Secret Service, and Boris Sanchez, CNN U.S. Correspondent.

Davis’s session, “Is Your Crisis Communications Plan Still in a 3‐Ring Binder?” will provide attendees with strategic advice on how to prepare for a communications crisis, including practical steps to convert a traditional crisis communications plan to a mobile version that can be accessed by multiple people, wherever the team happens to be.

“When a crisis hits, you’re not necessarily sitting at your desk with the plan at your side,” he said. “You’ll most likely be at a mall, at an off‐site meeting, or on a soccer field when that call comes in and you’ll need to be prepared to access your plan and deal with the situation immediately.

“I am honored to have been selected to speak at this year’s NAGC Communications School and look forward to sharing my insights and actionable tips for communicators attending the conference,” he said.
