Chad Sheridan
New role will focus on developing and implementing differentiating IT and business solutions
NetImpact is excited to welcome Chad Sheridan as its Chief Innovation Officer. This appointment is the latest in a series of continuous investments NetImpact is making to respond to evolving federal mission challenges with the best people, technologies and methodologies. Chad, as Chief Innovation Officer, will identify and collaborate with technology partners to develop and implement differentiating IT and business solutions that support customers’ emerging mission needs.
Chad spent the last 15+ years developing and delivering mission-focused IT solutions across federal agencies and led key digital transformation and customer experience efforts. Most recently, Chad served as Chief of the Information Solutions Service Delivery and Operations Branch of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) Business Center. There, he oversaw development and operations of all IT systems supporting the FPAC mission. Chad also led the farmers.gov effort, the leading edge of USDA’s digital transformation initiative designed to meet Secretary Perdue’s challenge for USDA to be the “most efficient, most effective and most customer-focused” agency in the federal government.
Chad previously served as the Chief Information Officer at USDA’s Risk Management Agency. In that role, he held responsibility for all information systems supporting the federal crop insurance program, which covers commodities and livestock with a total annual liability of over $100 billion. During his tenure, he transformed the USDA’s IT program to embrace agile development and DevOps. He also directed the standup of an action-oriented, collaborative USDA CIO Council.
Prior to his service at USDA, Chad spent more than 18 years of active duty and civilian service in the U.S. Navy, ultimately rising to the position of Deputy Director of Information Technology Management. There, he oversaw a staff of 400, a budget of $100+ million and six contractor-operated sites with 350+ contract personnel and implemented a transformative technology strategy extending to platforms, partnerships and external relationships. Earlier, as Shipboard IT Manager, he instituted wide-ranging initiatives to not only improve the quality of shipboard networks and software but also enhance the capabilities of IT professionals on nuclear-powered ships. Prior to his transition to IT, Chad served as Deputy Program Manager for the design and construction of the USS GEORGE H. W. BUSH (CVN 77) and USS GERALD R. FORD (CVN 78) aircraft carrier propulsion plants.
In speaking of his new role, Chad shared, “I’m excited to join such an exceptional organization so clearly driven to meet its customers’ mission needs. The company’s commitment to its people has created an incredible foundation for NetImpact and its clients. I hope my federal experience and leadership roles will reinforce and build on the team’s many accomplishments.”
Kavita Kalatur, NetImpact President and CEO, said, “I am thrilled to welcome a professional of Chad’s caliber and experience to the NetImpact team. I am confident that his presence will have an immediate impact on IT and business solution development and implementation for our clients.”
Chad received a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Virginia and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is a certified Project Management Professional and holds ITIL Service Design and ITIL Service Strategy certifications.
