Bonnie Heneson Communications (BHC), a full-service marketing communications firm, was selected to provide communications, public relations, social media, web management and marketing services for Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, the national association fighting sickle cell disease.

“We’re excited to bring our 30 years of agency health care communications experience to serve Sickle Cell Disease Association of America and its important mission of helping people across the nation with sickle cell disease,” said Kyri Jacobs, president and CEO of BHC.

Sickle Cell Disease Association of America advocates for people affected by sickle cell conditions and empowers community-based organizations to maximize quality of life and raise public consciousness while advancing the search for a universal cure. The association and more than 50 member organizations support sickle cell research, public and professional health education and patient and community services.

BHC also serves Howard County General Hospital, Howard Hospital Foundation and Doctors Regional Cancer Center among the agency’s health care clients. The agency received a Gold Aster Award this year, which recognizes excellence in health care marketing.
